Tortoise Antics |

The beginning of May my tortoise does the oddest things. I have always
thought it to be due to "him" trying to find a mate. He stops eating, makes
holes in wire fencing and will burrow in the dry soil and sleep. But after a
couple of weeks, he returns to his normal sociable self.

Maybe I have found an explanation for "his" behaviour ! The "he" tortoise is in fact
a female and "she" is doing her egg laying bit, which I suppose would make anyone
a bit broody.
