Go in, Stay in, Tune in Or Have I heard this song before? |
August is invariably a month when the strange and odd happens.
Never like the month of August, perhaps because it is often a month when the weather can be very hot or disappointingly wet -
all depending what St Swithin has in mind for us all.
St Swithin's Day, if it does rain, Full forty days, it will remain
St Swithin's Day, if it be fair For forty days, t'will rain no more.

Beginning of the month I had an information booklet come through my letterbox,as did rest of the population no doubt.
"Preparing for Emergencies" - what you need to know in the event of a terrorist attack !
|
|
| Just the sort of information I needed on a hot August day
to put some perspective into my life. The image above I adapted for speedy
reference, should the need arise. The symbols representing what we are all
supposed to do, are well designed if one finds oneself close enough to home.
The remainder of the booklet is informative if not somewhat alarmist.
The booklet can be
viewed online. Alternatively there are basic and deluxe emergency survival kits.
Some of the recommendations are to stock up with tinned food ? and gallons of water ?
